[Salix-main] SSL issue on the forums?

George Vlahavas
Tim has been experiencing problems with the SSL certificate in the forums.
The SSL certificate has been renewed earlier today. I don't see any issues
on my side. Does anyone else have any issues connecting to the forums?

https://forum.salixos.org/index.php

If you get a message about an untrusted connection/certificate, there is a
problem. And don't manually accept the certificate in that case.

Re: [Salix-main] SSL issue on the forums?

Akuna
This is what I'm getting here (In French):

La connexion n'est pas sécurisée

Les propriétaires de forum.salixos.org ont mal configuré leur site web. Pour éviter que vos données ne soient dérobées, Firefox ne s'est pas connecté à ce site web.

En savoir plus…

It basically says that something is not configured properly and to avoid data snatching, firefox didn't connect to the web site.

Re: [Salix-main] SSL issue on the forums?

George Vlahavas
In reply to this post by Akuna
I'll just add some information about what the problem was in case anybody
else has the same problem. It seems the original SSL certificate was
issued by Let's Encrypt Authority X1. However, the renewal that took place
earlier today was issued by Let's Encrypt Authority X3. And I had the
automatic renawal set to use the X1 authority. It was only just a matter
of swapping this:

wget -O - https://letsencrypt.org/certs/lets-encrypt-x1-cross-signed.pem >
intermediate.pem

for this:

wget -O - https://letsencrypt.org/certs/lets-encrypt-x3-cross-signed.pem >
intermediate.pem

in the renewal script.

I did not had a problem here in my Linux laptop. This morning connecting
from a pc in school, running windows 7 32bit i got a message about
certificate is not trusted. I click on accept and i connected in salix
forum.
Returning at home at noon i connected as usual with no messages or
problems from my laptop running slackel (Slackware current) Linux.
